Got Poison Ivy or Poison Oak?

Updated: May 3, 2023

Is there a quick way to get rid of it?

There is an herbal way to get rid of it yes. Poison oak is a vine or shrub that is native to California, it grows as a dense shrub in open sunlight, or as a climbing vine in shaded areas. Like poison-ivy, it reproduces by creeping rootstocks or by seeds. The leaves are divided into three leaflets, 35-100 mm long, with scalloped, toothed, or lobed edges. Remember the rhyme, “leaves of three, let it be.” Poison oak contains a potent allergen known as urushiol. Urushiol, a skin irritating oil, produces variable reactions in 50 to 85 percent of the population, ranging from minor irritation to severe inflammation and blistering.

Poison Oak can cause blisters or breakouts on the skin and spread to other places

The Lord works in mysterious ways, meaning where ever you see poison oak or poison ivy there is usually an herb nearby called Plantain. If you have been exposed to poison oak or ivy, immediately wash off the area with warm water or alcohol to remove the potential plant leaf oil and if a rash occurs put Plantain on top the infected area on your body it will heal it. I'd also recommend taking it as a supplement so it will dry it up internally as well. God bless!
